Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic at WM responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment; estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts; performs work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs); responds to service calls for emergency breakdowns; conducts safety checks to protect employees and communities; completes required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times; assists senior mechanics with project work; reviews or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports; maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards; works with diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks; requires 2 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, ability to perform physical tasks, and success with pre-employment drug screen and physical.
