Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and maintain portable diesel generators. Responsibilities include field-service repairs, refueling, delivering and picking up portable generators, providing technical support, and some travel as needed. Must read and interpret wiring diagrams, work with operations and fleet managers to prioritize repairs, order parts, operate a forklift, assist field operations, and drive a company vehicle. On-call rotation may be required. Requires extensive knowledge of diesel engines and familiarity with multiple engine/generator brands; ability to troubleshoot engine and generator controls using computer software; lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have extensive knowledge of diesel engines
- Generator experience a plus
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Working knowledge of Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators is a plus
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to assist field operations when needed
- Ability to drive a company vehicle
- On call rotation once approved to work in field
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
