Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Conduct routine inspections of on- and off-road equipment, utilize diagnostic tools to assess mechanical and electronic systems, perform maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections), repair or replace malfunctioning components (engines, transmissions, brake systems), address electrical issues (wiring, lights, instrument panels), maintain detailed service records, ensure regulatory compliance, follow safety protocols, communicate with drivers about repair status, offer maintenance advice, stay updated with industry trends, and participate in training programs. The role may require overtime and weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in automotive or diesel technology preferred
- Proven experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of trucks
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
