Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
Inspect vehicle and equipment systems to identify mechanical and electrical issues, then consult with management and review work orders to determine required repairs. Scope issues thoroughly and prepare appropriate work plans before repairing or replacing engines, transmissions, brakes, and other related components. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety while working outdoors or indoors in all weather conditions. Handle heavy lifting and operate around large machinery, including working at heights and in confined spaces. This role requires a valid DL (CDL preferred) and willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid DL (CDL preferred)
- Acceptable driving record
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check in accordance with company and customer site requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment, random, and annual drug screenings
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and repair equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and diesel engine mechanisms
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as needed
- Must be safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
