Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and disassembly on medium and heavy-duty trucks while writing detailed work notes. Diagnose malfunctions, communicate with the parts department for needed components, and document all recommended actions on repair orders. Maintain dealership-owned tools and comply with federal regulations regarding hazardous waste and OSHA standards. Operate equipment safely, keep vehicles clean, and report machinery defects or safety issues immediately to management.
Required Qualifications
- Two plus years of diesel mechanic experience
- English proficiency
- Valid CDL License
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Close vision

- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to push/pull large tool chest from vehicle to vehicle
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- ASE or Cummins Engine Repair Certificate
