Job Summary
Service and repair all fleet vehicles, including performing monthly preventive maintenance such as lube, oil changes, belt and hose replacement, brake inspections, bearing repacking, and tire checks. Diagnose and repair mechanical, engine, and electrical irregularities on vehicles ranging from 2,000 to 50,000 lbs. Drive automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing, transfers, and parts delivery. Manage inventory and order parts and supplies as needed. Read technical service manuals, repair orders, and gauges to complete work orders and purchase orders. Requires valid driver's license (C or better) and DOT brake/annual inspection certifications. Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience
- Possession of valid driver's license (C or better)
- ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 to 50,000 lbs. in size
- Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations
- Must meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection certifications
- A minimum of 1 year experience or a certificate from an approved training program
- Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English)
- Ability to write work orders, purchase orders
- Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies
- Full-time schedule consists of an average of 40 hours per week for a 5-day period
