Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, pistons, bearings, and gears on commercial trucks and heavy equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, operate machine tools and welding equipment, and complete accurate repair documentation. Ensure all work meets DOT regulations and company safety standards while working independently within a professional maintenance team. This hands-on role supports a modern commercial trucking fleet in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of diesel mechanic or related mechanical experience
- Experience repairing commercial trucks and diesel engines
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems, drivetrain components, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Experience using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Strong attention to safety and DOT compliance
- Lift, position, remove, and install components weighing 80 pounds or more
- Enter, exit, and operate commercial truck cabs safely
- Climb under trailers and heavy-duty equipment
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Perform repairs while standing, kneeling, bending, crawling, and lifting throughout the shift
- Operate hand and foot controls safely
- Monday–Friday schedule
- 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM shift availability
Desired Qualifications
- Welding and cutting components using arc welding and flame cutting equipment when required
