Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic role performing diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel trucks and mounted equipment (jet/vac, sewer-cleaning trucks, vacuum pumps, street sweepers, and related systems). Use diagnostic scanners to pinpoint faults, service high-pressure water jetting and vacuum systems, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on trucks and equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance and DOT inspections, document repairs for DOT/company compliance, and perform basic welding as needed. Position requires own hand tools and transition to CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days through an in-house program; on-site shop work in Louisville, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience repairing diesel trucks, cars, or heavy equipment
- Valid driver's license; willing to obtain CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days
- Proficient with heavy-duty diagnostic scanners; knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, vacuum systems, high-pressure water systems, and electrical troubleshooting
- Fundamental welding ability (MIG or stick)
- Own hand tools; able to obtain Kentucky state inspection license; pass background check and drug screen
