Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic role in Pittsburgh, PA focusing on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks including jet/vac trucks, combo sewer trucks, vacuum trucks, street sweepers, and service trucks. Responsibilities include using diagnostic scanners to pinpoint faults, servicing high-pressure water jetting systems, vacuum pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic/electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance and DOT inspections, documenting repairs for compliance, and performing basic welding. OSHA-ready safety and in-house CDL Class B training program are offered; the position is a day shift with overtime, in-house benefits, and a stable shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience repairing diesel trucks, cars, or heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license required; must be willing and able to obtain CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days of hire (in-house program provided).
- Proficient with heavy-duty diagnostic scanners; working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, vacuum systems, high-pressure water systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Fundamental welding ability required (MIG or stick at a basic repair level).
- Must own personal hand tools; willing to obtain and hold a Pennsylvania state inspection license; able to pass background check and drug screen.
