Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance and entry-to-mid-level repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and engine-related issues while conducting inspections and documenting findings. Support senior mechanics during major repairs, overhauls, and component replacements, ensuring all work meets safety and performance standards. Maintain a clean, organized work area and participate in an on-call rotation as needed. Work a swing shift from Wednesday through Friday with a day shift on Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- 1–3 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience
- Working knowledge of diesel mechanical systems and repair techniques
- Ability to read and follow service manuals, schematics, and written instructions
- Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance records
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, high-traffic industrial environment
- Schedule: Swing shift Wed Thru Fri, + Day shift on Sat
- Location: Mount Vernon, WA
Desired Qualifications
- Diesel Technology certificate or Associate's degree
- CDL
- Solid foundation in diesel repair
- Experience building advanced skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
