Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment including jet/vac, combination sewer-cleaning, street sweepers, and other contractor equipment. duties include diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; servicing high-pressure water jetting systems, vacuum pumps, and related components; performing preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and DOT compliance; documenting maintenance and repairs; and training field personnel on proper operation of jetters, vac trucks, combo trucks, and sweepers. Requires valid driver’s license, CDL progression (Class B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days), own tools, and experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, vacuum systems, and electrical troubleshooting. OSHA safety training and English proficiency preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to obtain a CDL Class B Permit within the first 90 days
- Must obtain CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days of employment
- Must have own tools
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, vacuum systems, high-pressure water systems, and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience working on jet/vac trucks, combo trucks, sewer cleaning equipment, or street sweepers preferred
- Ability to pass required safety training, background check, and drug screening
- Fluent in English
