Job Summary

Diesel Mechanic at WM in Madison, WI focusing on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and equipment. Daily duties include inspecting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems; estimating time and materials for repairs; working within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs); responding to service calls for emergency breakdowns; conducting safety checks; maintaining a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards; and assisting senior mechanics with project work. Requires 2+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, ability to meet physical requirements, and successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and physical. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 1:00pm–10:30pm, at the Madison hauling site with stable hours.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
