Job Summary
Diagnose, adjust, and repair major components of truck and trailer equipment including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems with little or no supervision. Perform preventive maintenance services, road test vehicles to verify proper operation, and document warrantable repairs on repair orders. Utilize hand and power tools, hydraulic jacks, and diagnostic instruments to inspect, replace, and reassemble machinery while maintaining work area safety. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 10:00pm to 6:30am. Starting pay ranges from $30 to $38 per hour based on experience and certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Current CDL license with air brake certification
- Willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one
- Must be able to read and write legibly in English
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical or certification
- Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
- OEM training courses
- ASE Certification
- 608/609 certifications
- Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools)
- Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems
