Job Summary
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks, including rolling stock, ensuring all equipment operates safely. Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner while procuring necessary parts and completing daily reports, work orders, and mechanical write-ups. Maintain safe working conditions by complying with federal, state, provincial, and local safety regulations. Assist in training new employees and maintain working knowledge of latest technology through technical manuals and seminars. Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 100 pounds in an environment with loud noise and varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
- Must possess, provide, and maintain the tools necessary for heavy/hydraulic equipment maintenance
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to understand and use repair and parts manuals written in English
- Ability to operate all vehicles and equipment necessary for the job
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date
