Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

Diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty diesel trucks, including rolling stock, CNG, gas, and electrically operated equipment to ensure safe operation. Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner, procure necessary parts, and complete daily reports, work orders, and mechanical write-ups. Maintain accurate records, follow detailed instructions, and assist in training new employees while staying current with technical manuals and diagnostic software. Operate all required vehicles and equipment, adhering to strict safety regulations and federal, state, and local laws. Perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 100 pounds in environments with loud noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must possess, provide, and maintain the tools necessary for heavy/hydraulic equipment maintenance
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to understand and use repair and parts manuals written in English
  • Must be able to operate all vehicles and equipment necessary for the job
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
