Job Summary
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment, including rolling stock. Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles while completing daily reports, work orders, and part procurement. Plan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and coordinate mechanical write-ups to ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance. Utilize a variety of power and hand tools to perform maintenance on heavy and hydraulic equipment, maintaining a clean work area and assisting in new employee training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a diesel mechanic
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell
- Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment
- Frequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
