Job Summary
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty diesel trucks, including rolling stock, while performing maintenance on diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated equipment. Complete daily reports, work orders, and part procurement using M5 planner, and assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups and coordinating repair schedules. Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while utilizing various power and hand tools. Maintain a clean work area, provide necessary tools, and assist in training new employees. Keep up with latest technology through technical manuals and training seminars. High school diploma or GED required with at least one year of diesel mechanic experience; computer literacy and diagnostic software skills are a plus. Valid work authorization is required as visa sponsorship is not provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a diesel mechanic
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell
- Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment
- Frequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
