Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks, including rolling stock, ensuring all equipment operates safely. Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner, procure necessary parts, and complete daily reports, work orders, and mechanical write-ups. Maintain safe working conditions by complying with federal, state, and local regulations while assisting in the training and orientation of new employees. Maintain working knowledge of the latest technology through technical manuals and seminars.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must possess, provide, and maintain the tools necessary for heavy/hydraulic equipment maintenance
  • Must be computer literate and willing to be trained on new software systems
  • Ability to understand and use repair and parts manuals written in English
  • Ability to operate all vehicles and equipment necessary for the job
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
