Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance (PM services) on diesel trucks, diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, and conduct DOT inspections and safety checks. Complete truck diagnostics and troubleshooting using advanced tools, test drive vehicles to ensure quality repairs, and maintain detailed service records and repair logs. Keep shop equipment clean, safe, and running smoothly. Work Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday from 1pm-9pm with compensation based on experience, including premiums for CDL, welding, and EPA certification. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and tool allowance are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Truck Mechanic
- Knowledge of diesel trucks, fleet maintenance and diesel engines
- Ability to safely lift and handle heavy components and meet the physical demands of a hands-on role
- CDL Class A or B (or willingness to obtain) with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card (Medical Examiner's Certificate)
- Must pass a DOT drug test
- Experience with heavy-duty truck repair, semi-trucks, or commercial vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with engine diagnostic and repair: Cummins, D11, D13, MP7, MP8
- Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools: Premium Tech Tool, Allison, Bendix, Cummins Insite
- Background in reefer units (Thermo King / Carrier)
- Welding or fabrication experience
