Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic at DCS Asset Maintenance (full-time) responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and snow removal equipment, performing preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime during snow events, repairing and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems (plows, salt spreaders, and attachments), conducting emergency field service repairs during snow operations, and assisting with fabrication, welding, and modifications. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used, ensure compliance with federal and state safety requirements, keep tools and shop areas clean and safe, and perform other duties to support snow operations. Requires ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts; travel locally for field service calls. Class B CDL is preferred but not required; background check and DOT drug test required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
- Technical educational training in Mechanics is preferred
- Proven experience repairing heavy trucks (diesel and gas)
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Prior experience with snowplows and snow removal equipment strongly preferred
- Welding experience required
- Must supply own tools
- Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts during snow events
- Must be able to travel locally for field service calls
- Class B CDL preferred but not required
- Must pass a background check and DOT drug test
