Job Summary
Service and repair diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, and air systems, including front and rear suspensions. Analyze and tune engines using specialized diagnostic equipment, diagnose failures, and remove or replace parts as necessary. Perform all assigned vehicle repairs while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area. Record time spent, parts used, and repairs on appropriate forms, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Identify repairs exceeding current qualification levels and report them immediately. Demonstrate integrity, effective communication, and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years experience working in a heavy equipment/diesel shop
- Extensive experience with engine, electrical and hydraulic repairs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability
- Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills needed for data entry into maintenance systems
