Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic at CPKC for Golden, BC. Maintain, inspect, service, test, and repair locomotive systems; diagnose diesel engine issues; interpret blueprints and service manuals; evaluate parts for reuse or replacement; modify and assemble mechanical structures; perform low-voltage repairs on locomotive electrical systems; service locomotive cabs; operate overhead/forklift equipment safely. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and one of the listed trade credentials or Unifor Local 101R. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, in all weather, and pass safety/regulatory exams and pre-employment checks. Offers a $15,000 signing bonus. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver’s license
- Possess one of the following credentials: Red Seal in Heavy-Duty Mechanics, Automotive Technician, Agriculture Equipment Technician, Truck and Transport Technician, Recreation Vehicle Service Technician or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Unifor Local 101R card
- Ability to pass required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written material in English
