Diesel Mechanic - B Tech

Job Summary

Maintain and repair chassis components, refuse bodies, and control systems on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems. Perform light engine work, suspension, drivetrain, and steering repairs while conducting basic tire replacement, rotation, and tread checks. Execute preventative maintenance and line maintenance welding and fabrication, identifying malfunctions using electronic tools. Safely provide road service to return company equipment to operation. Complete applicable training programs and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Work a regular shift supporting drivers on routes servicing advanced vehicles.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise
  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships
  • 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8)
  • Commercial Driver's License
