Job Summary

Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, mixers, and trailers, including removing, repairing, and rebuilding engines, transmissions, and axles. Execute electrical work on wiring systems and sensors, adjust E.G.R. valves, and repair computerized fuel management and ignition systems. Weld broken assemblies, manage shop inventory, and prepare detailed reports on time and parts used. Respond to road service calls using a company vehicle and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Requires a valid driver's license, knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and ability to read maintenance manuals.

Required Qualifications

  • Fleet/transportation, repair and maintenance experience of preferably at least 3 years for a medium to large size company
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance and parts manuals, maintenance and wiring diagrams, schematics and other written instructions related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, DOT as they apply to the operation
  • Ability to perform maintenance and repairs in a garage and/or the field, in conformance with the specifications contained in the applicable maintenance manuals, diagrams and/or instructions
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership
  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion
  • Possesses analytical, problem solving and customer service sills

Desired Qualifications

  • A valid CDL (A class) license preferred
  • A valid PA Inspection License A+ preferred
  • A valid Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification
  • Certification under the federal Department of Transportation guidelines for brake adjustment and repair
