Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic on 2nd shift at WM in Wichita, KS. Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of diesel equipment and trucks, using modern tools and procedures. Tasks include estimating time and material costs for repairs, working within standard labor repair times (SRTs), responding to service calls and emergency breakdowns, performing safety checks, completing required paperwork, assisting senior mechanics with project work, reviewing and completing identified repairs, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in accordance with OSHA standards. Ideal candidates are team players who can work independently and enjoy new challenges, with a focus on quality maintenance and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
- Be over 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
