Job Summary
Diesel Maintenance Mechanic supports the Maintenance Manager in repairing and maintaining boats and dock facilities. Responsibilities include Cummins diesel repairs on boats, basic troubleshooting of Cummins 6BT and QSB engines, replacing lines and equipment on boats, refueling boats, assisting in major boat repairs, maintaining the shop and grounds, purchasing supplies, picking up parts, assisting in hurricane procedures, contributing to the Preventive Maintenance Program, participating in after-hours or emergency callouts, operating company truck to move boats, launching and retrieving boats, operating boats, basic electrical and welding work, reading safety and operation manuals, and performing related duties as needed. Requires ability to read and interpret safety and operation documents, and to write routine reports; ability to perform basic arithmetic and problem-solves; capable of following written or diagramed instructions; able to work in varying weather and near deep water/electric environments. Education/experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent or two years related experience; valid TWIC and driver’s license; QMED or DDE 1000 qualifications appreciated but not required.
