Job Summary
Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift gates, and light-duty vehicles to maximize fleet safety and reliability. Diagnose and repair malfunctions across engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC, addressing all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) write-ups timely and correctly. Document all work performed on Work Orders using the Complaint, Cause, and Correction Format while developing efficiency in Sysco computer programs. This role supports Fleet Technicians in reducing vehicle downtime and improving total fleet reliability. ASE Certification or equivalent experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school
- Either, 1 Year Experience with 2 Year Technical Degree or 3 years experience in Fleet Maintenance and Repair
- ASE Certification ' Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty
- Current and Valid Drivers License
- Annual Inspector Certification
- Brake Inspector Certification
- Basic Knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and Components
- Knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment
- Understanding and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
- Working knowledge of Computer-based diagnostic software for OEM component mfg
