Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair on diesel semi-trucks and trailers. Assess maintenance schedules to ensure equipment upkeep is completed on time, meet with supervisors to prioritize work orders, and utilize systems for accurate documentation. Execute specific tasks including DOT inspections, air brake repairs, starter/alternator/battery replacements, cooling system diagnostics, suspension services, and hydraulic liftgate maintenance. Maintain service records and repair documentation for all work performed. Requires a valid driver's license, 3-5 years of related experience, and ability to work 8-10 hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (GED)
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours
- Ability to work overtime as necessary and as assigned
- Ability to work in 8-10 hour shifts
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with changes in temperature and humidity
- Ability to tolerate moderate to high noise levels
- Ability to frequently sit, walk, stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls
- Ability to frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms
- Must provide and maintain essential mechanic tools and toolbox for daily tasks
- Must complete SpartanNash certification for safe driving skills for material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers
