Job Summary
Lead projects from preliminary feasibility through E-Review gates, ensuring timely delivery against Cosma and customer standards. Champion allocated jobs, validate formability and process improvements, and drive engineering reviews to hold vendors accountable. Perform spring-back studies, analyze Sigma and cosmetic studies, and investigate root causes for FEA issues and metallurgical failures. Communicate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams including CAD, Tooling, and Quality Execution. Develop best practices, lead correlation initiatives, and audit department KPIs while investigating VA/VE opportunities. Support T1 and FPG activities, train departments, and ensure compliance with HS&E and ISO standards. Day shift with overtime required.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Degree
- minimum 5 years' experience in a tooling/stamping environment
- Understanding of sheet metal formability and stamping die operations
- Ability to interpret GD&T
- Expert knowledge of running stamping formability simulation using one or more of the following software: Autoform, PamStamp, LS Dyna
- Manufacturing knowledge of stamping, and other process technologies
- Ability to interpret Metallurgical Failure modes for components/systems that have failed in testing
- Strong CAD software knowledge
- Orientation, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher, 5S, CI Suggestion Program, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 training as prescribed by QEMS
- Day shift and overtime required
