Job Summary
Fabricate and repair dies for production, read blueprints, perform die repair using mills, lathes, grinders, and hand tools; make in-press repairs of dies/tooling; die tryout duties; use calipers, gauge blocks, and micrometers to repair/fabricate dies; operate hi-lo or overhead crane to move dies and heavy equipment; document and record department data; comply with OSHA safety procedures; be able to work flexible shifts including nights and overtime; located in South Whitley, IN with relocation/travel considerations as needed; must possess apprenticeship certificate or equivalent six years of experience and be eligible to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship provided by GM.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or six years of documented experience as a Die Maker
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete General Motors hiring process requirements including comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours (day, afternoon, or night) with overtime, weekends, and holidays
