Job Summary
Die Maker Journeyman sought to build, repair, remodel, and maintain all types of dies using various materials. Responsibilities include following OSHA and company safety procedures, fabricating and repairing dies (including welding), reading blueprints for repair/fabrication, operating mills/lathes/grinders and hand tools, performing in-press die repairs, die tryouts, and using calipers and micrometers for measurement. Must operate hi-lo or overhead crane to move dies, document data for the department, and have basic computer skills. Requires apprenticeship certificate or six years of experience, US work eligibility, and flexible shift availability with overtime. Relocation/travel costs are the applicant’s responsibility; GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or six (6) years of documented experience as an Die Maker
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice.
