Job Summary
Die Maker Journeyperson responsible for building, repairing, remodeling, and maintaining all types of dies; follow OSHA safety procedures; fabricate/repair dies; read blueprints; die repair using mills, lathes, grinders and hand tools; in-press repairs; measure with calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers; operate hi-lo and overhead crane to move dies; document data; basic computer skills; possible Journeyperson or Journeyperson-in-Training with pay bands; flexible shifts with potential overtime; relocation/travel expenses borne by applicant.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or six (6) years of documented experience as an Die Maker
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice.
- This position may be filled with a Journeyperson or Journeyperson in Training; the Compensation ranges for a JIT include ($37.88 - $44.19) or a Journeyperson rate of $45.09
