Job Summary
Die Maker Journeyman responsible for fabricating and repairing dies for production, reading blueprints, performing die repair with mills, lathes, grinders and hand tools, making in-press repairs, die tryout, and using measuring instruments (calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers) to repair/fabricate dies. Requires operating a hi-lo and/or overhead crane to move dies, documenting data, basic computer skills, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. Flexible shift hours with possibility of overtime; position may be Journeyperson or Journeyperson-in-Training with union-involved compensation. Location: Yoder, IN, USA. Relocation/travel expenses are the applicant’s responsibility; no GM immigration sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or six (6) years of documented experience as an Die Maker
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice.
- This position may be filled with a Journeyperson or Journeyperson in Training; the Compensation ranges for a JIT include ($37.88 - $44.19) or a Journeyperson rate of $45.09.
