Die Maker Journeyman - Marion

Die Maker Journeyman position at General Motors in Marion, Indiana. Responsible for building, repairing, remodeling, and maintaining dies using various materials, following OSHA safety procedures, performing die fabrication/repair including welding, reading blueprints, and using mills, lathes, grinders, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Duties include die repair, in-press repairs, die tryout, and operating a hi-lo or overhead crane to transport dies and heavy equipment. Must document data for the department and possess basic computer skills. Requires apprenticeship certificate or six years of experience, ability to pass GM hiring process including assessments, and eligibility to work in the US. Shifts include day, afternoon, or night with potential overtime; relocation/travel expenses are applicant responsibility. Pre-employment requirements also include background checks and drug testing.
