Job Summary
Inspect and polish dies to prepare them for production, assist in die corrections, and load, start, and monitor nitrider units. Deliver dies to presses on schedule, retrieve extruded dies for caustic cleaning, and run dies through solution to remove aluminum remnants. Assemble and break down tooling assemblies, ensuring a safe, clean work environment with proper safety equipment and protocol. Work between Garden City and Livonia plants in 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Saturday, with overtime and weekend availability as business needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Working ability to use an assortment of hand tools
- Physically capable of lifting 75 pounds from the floor to a waist high platform
- Previous experience of die polishing and/or correction
- Working ability and/or willingness to work with caustic
- Knowledge of production operation and experience in manufacturing environment
- Prior experience or knowledge of die/die shop
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Flexible with scheduling based on business needs
- Good attitude
- Reliable and maintain good attendance
- Willing to work between plant locations (Garden City and/or Livonia)
- Ability to work shift
- Ability to follow directions and perform assignments given
- Ability to read and write in English fluently
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have at least a high school diploma, GED, Certification or Associate Degree
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must possess knowledge of safety and productivity around the aluminum extrusion press
- Must be able to pass stringent background check and substance screening
- Medical exam may be required
- Must have reliable transportation
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
- Manufacturing: 1 year

- Must possess the working ability and/or willingness to work with caustic
- Must possess knowledge of safety and productivity around the aluminum extrusion press
- Possess a valid Drivers License
- Certification or Associate Degree
