Job Summary
Dialysis Registered Nurse – Home Therapy Traveler role provides home dialysis patient training and ongoing support across Renal Care locations. Responsibilities include patient education on self-care for home hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, documenting nursing services in the EMR, monitoring patient outcomes, infection control practices, and readiness to travel to home programs as needed. Maintain compliance with federal/state regulations, participate in program readiness and quality improvement activities, and be flexible with staffing locations and hours. Requires current RN license, 12 months of clinical nursing experience with 3 months in the specified home dialysis modality, CPR certification, ability to communicate in English, basic computer skills, and completion of Home Therapy Nurse Orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in applicable state
- License maintained as current and in good standing
- 12 months of clinical experience in providing nursing care
- 3 months of experience in the specific home dialysis modality (Home Hemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis)
- CPR certification prior to patient care assignment
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Successful completion of Home Therapy Nurse Orientation and ongoing competency demonstrations
- English language communication proficiency (verbal and written)
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in USRC clinical applications within 90 days of hire
- Must meet state practice act requirements
- Ability to meet minimum hiring standards potentially including background clearances and orientation requirements
