Job Summary
The Home Therapy Registered Nurse as a traveler provides patient training and ongoing support for home dialysis modalities, traveling to Renal Care locations across the U.S. to support patients choosing home therapy and to offer nursing relief on a temporary basis. Responsibilities include teaching patients about self-care, coordinating supplies and orders to prevent care disruption, assisting with inventory and equipment management, documenting nursing services in the EMR, contributing to program outcomes and quality improvement, participating in infection control monitoring, and providing on-call nursing coverage as needed. The role requires multi-state RN licensure, CPR certification, travel willingness, and strong communication, documentation, and clinical skills to support home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in multiple states
- All licenses must be maintained as current and in good standing
- Must obtain applicable state license within state-specified time frames
- 12 months or more current nursing experience
- 6 months or more home modality experience
- Flexibility with schedule and willingness to travel to assignment locations throughout the U.S. and Guam
- CPR certification required prior to patient care assignment
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Must successfully complete the Home Therapy Nurse Orientation program
- Demonstrated working knowledge of English (verbal and written)
- Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in USRC clinical applications within 90 days of hire
- Must meet practice requirements for applicable state
- Ability to meet minimum hiring standards including possible background clearances and orientation requirements
