Job Summary
Dialysis Registered Nurse – Home Therapy Traveler provides patient training and ongoing support for home dialysis across U.S. Renal Care locations on a temporary or short-term basis. Responsibilities include teaching self-care for Peritoneal/Hemodialysis, documenting nursing services in the EMR, coordinating patient plans of care with interdisciplinary team, participating in infection control, and ensuring timely communication of patient needs. Travel between assigned home therapy locations, flexible staffing, and on-call responsibilities (nights/weekends) are expected. Maintain compliance with federal/state regulations and license requirements, complete orientation, and support program quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in multiple states
- All licenses must be maintained as current and in good standing
- Must obtain applicable state license based on assignment within state-specified time frames
- 12 months or more current nursing experience
- 6 months or more home modality experience
- Flexibility with schedule and willingness to travel to assignment locations throughout the U.S. and Guam
- CPR certification required prior to patient care assignment
- Must successfully complete the Home Therapy Nurse Orientation program and maintain annual demonstration of skills and competency applicable for the modality assigned
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire
- Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state
- Ability to meet minimum hiring standards which may include additional background clearances and orientation requirements if applicable to the program assigned to for employment
