Job Summary

Oversee nursing services each shift by providing daily supervision of staff during operational hours and responding to all clinic emergencies. Assist with clinical and operational processes to improve patient health, administer medications as ordered, and support physician rounds. Demonstrate effective use of supplies and staff labor hours while completing monthly patient medication profile reviews. Act as a resource person to implement and evaluate dialysis services, update policies, and assist in interviewing and hiring center staff. May provide direct patient care for dialysis if permitted by state regulations. Maintain collaborative relationships with the Medical Director and physicians as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications

  • Dialysis Registered Nurse
  • Nursing supervisor
  • Knowledge of and compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements
  • Ability to perform duties within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ability to give direct patient care to the extent of performing efficient, safe dialysis, if allowed by state regulations
  • Ability to respond to all emergencies in clinic
  • Ability to communicate results of patient assessment, reassessment, and ongoing monitoring to the physician, team members, and others as appropriate to the individual needs of the patient
  • Ability to maintain collaborative working relationship with Medical Director and physicians
  • Ability to participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary team in all required patient assessment and care planning activities
  • Ability to assist in orientation of new staff as a preceptor or in assigning a preceptor
  • Ability to act as resource person and participate in implementing and evaluating dialysis services and assure that policies and procedures are updated
  • Ability to assist Administrator in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions of center staff
