Job Summary
The RN Charge Nurse oversees nursing services each shift and acts as the nursing supervisor with daily staff supervision during operational hours. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and reduce hospitalizations and missed treatments; efficient use of supplies and staff labor hours; completing monthly medication profile reviews and administering medications as ordered; assisting physicians during rounds and transcription/implementation of orders; supporting anemia management and medication protocols; ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies; potential direct patient care within scope of state regulations; emergency response; communicating patient assessment results to physicians and team members; collaborating with Medical Director and interdisciplinary team; assisting in orientation of new staff as a preceptor; contributing to dialysis services evaluation and policy updates; assisting in interviewing, hiring, and disciplinary actions of center staff; and participating in overall center operations.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in applicable state
- 12 months experience providing nursing care including 3 months with dialysis patients
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Leadership capacity and ability to respond to emergent situations
- Strong English communication (verbal and written)
- Basic computer skills; proficiency in USRC clinical applications within 90 days
- State-specific RN practice requirements
