Job Summary
Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments per prescribed orders while obtaining and documenting pre- and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access assessments. Operate hemodialysis machines, perform safety checks, and administer heparin as permitted by state law. Accurately document patient treatment details and prepare laboratory specimens. Deliver excellent service to patients, families, and staff while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with Concerto's policies and state/federal regulations. Requires three days per week with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio or less.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification or completion upon starting in unit
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Minimum of two (2) years of dialysis technician experience
- Dialysis certification
- Passing Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to move equipment up to 200 lbs (with assistance)
- Sustained mental, visual, and auditory focus
- Work under the supervision of a licensed nurse
- Compliance with regulations set for by state and federal agencies
