Job Summary

Dialysis Patient Care Technician needed at our Anchorage-area clinic to care for adult/geriatric ESRD patients. Responsibilities include caring for and monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis; preparing the dialysis machine and components; transporting patients and recording vitals (weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse); explaining dialysis procedure and machine operation to patients; inspecting fistula/graft/catheter areas; checking equipment settings and safety standards; starting treatment per physician orders; monitoring for adverse reactions and machine malfunctions; assisting with inventory and supply stocking; and completing dialysis training with competency within 12 weeks. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR within 90 days, color-vision ability, CMS certification within the required timeline, flexible scheduling, English proficiency, basic computer skills, organization and multitasking abilities, and a valid driver’s license. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 months dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors (Ishihara Color Vision Test)
  • Successful completion of dialysis training program within 12 weeks of hire
  • CMS-approved national certification within CMS timeline and current in good standing
  • Flexible to work most days/times
  • Basic English communication (verbal and written)
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in clinical applications within 90 days
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling patient information
  • Interpersonal skills for working with patients, staff, and others
  • Ability to multi-task in a professional, calm manner
  • Valid Driver's License
