Job Summary

Dialysis Patient Care Technician needed at a clinic in Alaska to care for adult/geriatric ESRD patients. Responsibilities include preparing dialysis machines, monitoring patients before/during/after treatment, recording vitals (weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), explaining dialysis procedures to patients, inspecting access sites and equipment, starting treatments, monitoring for adverse reactions, assisting in inventory and supplies, and participating in training and CMS certification processes. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, CPR within 90 days, color-vision testing, completion of dialysis training within 12 weeks, CMS certification within required timeline, flexible scheduling, English communication, basic computer skills, strong organizational abilities, and good problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors - Ishihara Color Vision Test
  • Successful completion of dialysis training program within 12 weeks of hire
  • CMS-approved national certification requirements within CMS timeline
  • Must be flexible to work most days/times
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Basic computer skills; proficiency in clinical applications within 90 days
  • Organizational/time-management skills
  • Problem solving, analytical and effective communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to work with patients and staff
  • Ability to multi-task in professional, calm manner
  • Valid Driver’s License
