Dialysis Patient Care Technician

Job Summary
Provide pre-, during-, and post-dialysis patient care for adult/geriatric ESRD patients at the Anchorage-area clinic. Responsibilities include preparing dialysis machines, monitoring patient weights and vital signs, explaining dialysis procedures to patients, inspecting access sites and equipment, starting treatments, monitoring for adverse reactions, and assisting in inventory and supply stocking. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, CPR within 90 days, color-vision testing, completion of a dialysis training program within 12 weeks, CMS national certification in good standing, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Relocation assistance is offered; 36 hours/week with 4-9 hour shifts. Relocation and comprehensive benefits are provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to distinguish primary colors - Ishihara Color Vision Test
- Successful completion of dialysis training program within 12 weeks of hire
- Must meet CMS-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline
- Must be flexible to work most days/times (no set shifts)
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and clinical applications
- Must be able to organize time and tasks well
- Must have interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Valid Driver’s License
