Job Summary
Develop and implement processes for program growth while planning patient scheduling to assure timely acceptance and effective staffing levels. Implement clinical and operational processes to improve patient health, reduce length of stay, and achieve financial targets for budget and labor costs. Review incident reports, promote quality management programs, and monitor quality metrics as prescribed. Coordinate department functions, maintain thorough patient documentation, and establish standards for measuring patient care services. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including health care professional practice acts, and develop corrective action plans for surveys. Plan and approve efficient staffing, oversee equipment and supply maintenance, and supervise building areas. Conduct meetings with management and staff, establish required records, and maintain collaborative relationships with hospital staff, physicians, vendors, and the community. Recruit, train, and supervise all personnel while ensuring staff meet required qualifications and perform duties within established limitations.
Required Qualifications
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Knowledge of and ability to remain current with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements
- Ability to assure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and receive continuing certification from all statutory and regulatory agencies
- Ability to develop, implement and follow up necessary Corrective Action Plans for internal and external surveys
- Ability to conduct and/or participate in formal and informal meetings with Hospital Management, Regional Director, Medical Director and staff
- Ability to assure that appropriate staff meetings, in-service education meetings, and team patient care planning meetings are held routinely
- Ability to assure that Quality Assessment - Performance Improvement Program is current at all times
- Ability to establish, maintain, and submit all required records and reports concerning staff, patients, and the operational affairs of the dialysis program
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and approve effective and efficient staffing to meet patient needs and regulations
- Knowledge of water treatment and mechanisms of the equipment of the dialysis program
- Ability to assist with disinfection of equipment and supplies including Reverse Osmosis machines/systems and dialysis machines
- Ability to supervise the maintenance of equipment, building areas occupied by the dialysis program and other property belonging to the Company
- Ability to continuously monitor to ensure that a safe and sanitary physical environment is maintained
- Ability to ensure all staff meet required qualifications for position held and perform duties within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy/procedures, health care professionals practice acts, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Ability to recruit, train, develop, and supervise all personnel
- Ability to maintain effective personnel management and employee relations, including evaluating the performance of all personnel; approving and submitting all hours worked and counseling and disciplining employees
- Ability to uphold management goals of corporation by leading staff in team concepts and promoting a team effort
- Ability to effectively communicate expectations; accept accountability and hold others accountable for performance
