Job Summary
Manage the daily operation of the dialysis program by developing growth processes, coordinating patient scheduling, and achieving financial targets for budget and labor costs. Implement clinical and operational processes to reduce length of stay and readmission rates while monitoring quality metrics and incident reports. Plan staffing levels, oversee equipment maintenance and inventory, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct staff meetings, recruit and supervise personnel, and maintain relationships with hospital staff, physicians, and vendors. May assume Charge Nurse or CEO responsibilities as delegated.
Required Qualifications
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Knowledge of and ability to remain current with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements
- Ability to assure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Ability to receive continuing certification from all statutory and regulatory agencies
- Ability to develop, implement and follow up necessary Corrective Action Plans
- Ability to conduct and/or participate in formal and informal meetings with Hospital Management, Regional Director, Medical Director and staff
- Ability to assure that appropriate staff meetings, in-service education meetings, and team patient care planning meetings are held routinely
- Ability to assure that Quality Assessment - Performance Improvement Program is current
- Ability to establish, maintain, and submit all required records and reports concerning staff, patients, and operational affairs
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and approve effective and efficient staffing
- Knowledge of water treatment and mechanisms of dialysis equipment
- Ability to assist with disinfection of equipment and supplies including Reverse Osmosis machines/systems and dialysis machines
- Ability to supervise maintenance of equipment, building areas, and property
- Ability to monitor contractual agreements
- Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with hospital staff and physicians
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with area dialysis programs, area hospitals, agencies, vendors, and the community
- Ability to respond timely and effectively to inquiries or complaints
- Ability to ensure all staff meet required qualifications for position held
- Ability to recruit, train, develop, and supervise all personnel
- Ability to maintain effective personnel management and employee relations
- Ability to evaluate the performance of all personnel
- Ability to approve and submit all hours worked
- Ability to counsel and discipline employees
- Ability to lead staff in team concepts and promote a team effort
- Ability to effectively communicate expectations
