Job Summary
Develop and implement processes for program growth while planning patient scheduling to assure timely acceptance and effective staffing levels. Achieve financial targets for budget, labor, and supply costs by overseeing equipment maintenance, inventory levels, and a safe, sanitary physical environment. Implement clinical and operational processes to improve patient health, reduce length of stay, and readmission rates through quality management programs and incident report reviews. Recruit, train, develop, and supervise all personnel while maintaining effective employee relations and performance evaluations. Coordinate functions across all departments, establish standards for patient care services, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Maintain chronological documentation of treatments and communications, conduct required meetings with hospital management and staff, and respond timely to inquiries or complaints.
Required Qualifications
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Knowledge of and remain current with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements
- Assure that the dialysis program is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and receives continuing certification from all statutory and regulatory agencies
- Develop, implement and follow up necessary Corrective Action Plans for internal and external surveys
- May assume Charge Nurse's responsibilities as needed
- May fulfill responsibility of dialysis program CEO as delegated by Governing Body
- Know and understand the water treatment and mechanisms of the equipment of the dialysis program
- Assist, when necessary, with disinfection of equipment and supplies including Reverse Osmosis machines/systems and dialysis machines
- Ensure all staff meet required qualifications for position held and perform duties within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy/procedures, health care professionals practice acts, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
