Job Summary
Transport patients to and from treatment areas, collect specimens, and assist with nutritional needs while maintaining aseptic technique for cannula removal and bandaging. Clean and disinfect dialysis machines, take vital signs, perform EKGs, and monitor water treatment systems including chlorine testing. Document patient weights, report machine malfunctions immediately, and assist with patient discharge under nurse supervision. Respond to patient calls, maintain emergency equipment, and participate in quality improvement activities and staff meetings. Ensure a clean, safe environment while adhering to infection control policies and family-centered care principles.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Hemodialysis Technologist/Technician Certification
- Certification is required upon hire OR within 18 months of continuous employment as a Dialysis Associate or Technician in any dialysis facility
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
