Job Summary
Receive patients, explain procedures, and correctly position them for diagnostic examinations. Operate linear, sector, and endovaginal probes to perform obstetrical, pelvic, abdominal, small parts, and vascular sonography for patients of all ages. Interpret requests, conduct quality control checks, and assist physicians with invasive techniques like biopsies. Identify abnormalities, recognize anatomic variants, and notify physicians of significant findings requiring immediate attention. Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment, stock supplies, and institute emergency resuscitation measures as needed. This role offers excellent work-life balance with freedom from on-call responsibilities at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Must have 12 months of Full-Time experience within the past 24 months
- BLS through American Heart Association
