Job Summary
Review course syllabi, establish due dates, and deliver effective instruction on ergonomics, knobology, anatomy, and scanning techniques using current references. Provide demonstrations and constructive feedback on protocols, procedures, and policies while maintaining clean, organized labs with student assistance. Prepare instructional equipment, order supplies, and report malfunctions to the Program Director. Monitor student progress, track lab hour completion, and report academic or conduct issues using appropriate forms. Maintain CPR/BLS certification and current ARDMS credentials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught
- Related degree at least at the same level as the course the faculty member is teaching
- Current certification(s) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography license
- Adherence to all continuing education requirements set by Smith Chason College in the fields being taught
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the professional career paths and demands of employers in the field(s) in which they teach
- Strong technical skills including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motions
- Sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with others
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Canvas or related LMS usage for instruction (assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, gradebook, modules)
- Online, hybrid, remote or blended teaching experience
